Use synchronization to update connected data sources when the source data changes. You can synchronize one table, multiple tables, or all tables in a data source. You can also schedule synchronization so FineBI Cloud updates the data on a recurring basis.
Synchronization Methods
Choose the synchronization method based on what changed in the source.
| Method | Use It When | What It Updates |
|---|---|---|
| Synchronize one table | One table has new rows, changed rows, changed fields, or deleted fields. | The selected table structure and data. |
| Schedule one table | One table updates on a regular schedule. | The selected table structure and data at the scheduled time. |
| Synchronize multiple tables | Several tables in the same data source need to be updated. | The selected table structures and data. |
| Schedule multiple tables | Several tables update on the same regular schedule. | The selected table structures and data at the scheduled time. |
| Synchronize the data source | All tables in the data source need to be updated. | All table structures and data in the selected data source. |
| Get latest tables | Tables were added to or removed from the source. | The table list only. Table data is not synchronized. |
| Synchronize a specified range | You need to retrieve historical data for a supported source table. | Data in the selected time range. |
Recommended Method
Use the table below to decide which action to take.
| Source Change | Recommended Action |
|---|---|
| A table has new fields, deleted fields, changed rows, renamed fields, or a changed field order. | Synchronize the table. If several tables changed, synchronize the selected tables in batch. |
| A new table was added to the source. | Use Get Latest Tables to update the table list, and then synchronize the new table. |
| A table was deleted from the source. | Use Get Latest Tables to update the table list. Deleted tables are removed from the list. |
| Historical data needs to be reloaded for a supported app data source. | Use Synchronize Specified Range if the action is available for that table. |
Synchronize One Table
Use single-table synchronization when one source table has changed and you want to update that table only.
Select the table that you want to update, and then select Synchronize Table.
FineBI Cloud synchronizes the latest table structure and data.

Synchronize Multiple Tables
Use batch synchronization when several tables in the same data source need to be updated.
Select the tables that you want to update, and then select Batch Synchronize Tables.
FineBI Cloud synchronizes the selected table structures and data.

Synchronize All Tables
Use Synchronize Data Source when you need to update all tables in a data source.
Select the data source, and then select Synchronize Data Source.
FineBI Cloud synchronizes the structures and data of all tables in the data source.

Get Latest Tables
Use Get Latest Tables when tables are added to or removed from the source.
This action updates only the table list in FineBI Cloud. It does not synchronize table data. After a new table appears in the list, synchronize that table to retrieve its data.
Update the Table List
Select the data source, and then select Get Latest Tables.

Synchronize the New Table
Select the newly added table, and then select Synchronize Table.

Synchronize a Specified Range
Use Synchronize Specified Range when you need to retrieve historical data for a supported source table.
For example, some app data sources synchronize only a recent default time range during the first synchronization. If you need older historical data, use this action to set a wider range.
Open Range Synchronization
Select the table, and then select Synchronize Specified Range.

Select a Time Range
Select a predefined range, such as the last 7 days or the last 15 days, or set a custom range.

Stop Synchronization
If a table is synchronizing for a long time and you need to view or edit the table, you can stop the current synchronization.
Stop the Current Run
If the table is currently synchronizing, select Stop Synchronization.
FineBI Cloud stops the current run and keeps the data that has already been synchronized.

View the Status
After synchronization is stopped, the table status changes to Stopped.

View Synchronization Status
The synchronization status appears next to the table name. Use it to check whether synchronization succeeded.

Select the status label to view synchronization details. If synchronization fails, the details show the failure reason.

If the data source contains many tables, filter the table list by status. For example, you can filter the list to show only tables whose synchronization status is Failed.

Synchronization Limits
FineBI Cloud may limit the number of synchronization runs per table. The available limit depends on your workspace plan.
Synchronization runs can be consumed by scheduled synchronization, automatic synchronization after adding data to a project, and manual synchronization, including single-table synchronization, batch synchronization, and full data source synchronization.
When a table uses up its available synchronization runs for the day, it cannot be synchronized again until the limit resets.

Synchronization Notifications
Use synchronization notifications when you want to receive an email after a synchronization run finishes or when a run fails or partially succeeds.
Open Synchronization Management
Select the data source. In the right-side panel, open Synchronization Management.

Enable Notifications
Enable notifications and set the recipient email address.

After synchronization finishes, FineBI Cloud sends an email based on the notification settings.
