Use this document to create a storyboard for presenting an analysis process, explanations, calculation steps, and charts.
Before You Start
- You have logged in to FineBI Next.
- You have access to a project where you can edit content.
- You have prepared analysis steps or charts that you want to present.
What a Storyboard Does
Use a dashboard when you mainly need to display charts.
Use a storyboard when you need to explain how an analysis conclusion is reached. A storyboard can include text, analysis steps, calculation explanations, and charts, so it is suitable for an analysis report.
Creating a Storyboard
- Open a project.
- Click +.
- Select Storyboard.
- Create a blank storyboard.

Adding Text
Add text to describe the background, conclusion, or explanation of the analysis.
- Add a text component to the storyboard.
- Enter the text content.
- Set the text style, such as heading level, color, and alignment.

Adding Analysis Steps
A dashboard usually shows final chart results. In a storyboard, you can also add analysis steps and show the result data of those steps. This helps viewers understand why the analysis result is reliable.
- Click Analysis Steps.
- Select one or more steps. To select multiple steps, press Ctrl or Shift.
- Drag the selected steps to the storyboard.
- Save the storyboard.

When viewers open the storyboard, they can expand an analysis step to view its result data.

Adding Charts
Add charts when you need visual evidence for the analysis conclusion.
- Click Charts.
- Drag a chart to the storyboard.
- Adjust the width and height of the chart.
- Save the storyboard.

Result
After you complete the configuration, the storyboard presents the analysis process and final results in a report-style layout.
