Use this document to prepare project content for publishing and troubleshoot common publishing failures.
Before You Start
- You have logged in to FineBI Next.
- You have access to a project where you can publish content.
- The project contains content that you want to publish.
Checking Content Before Publishing
Before publishing, check whether the project content is complete and valid.
- The project is not empty.
- Required source tables are still available in the current project.
- Required analysis tables, charts, dashboards, storyboards, calculation models, and widgets are available.
- Analysis tables do not contain error steps.
- Source table result data does not exceed the publishing limit.
- All tables in the project have finished data preparation.
The visible scope after publishing depends on the publishing settings and permissions in your organization.
Viewing Failure Details
If publishing fails, FineBI Next shows the failure reason in a dialog box.
- In the failure dialog box, review the failure reason.
- Click Copy Details.
- Paste the copied details into a text editor.
- Locate the affected table, chart, object, widget, or analysis step based on the details.
- Fix the project content and publish again.

Fixing Common Publishing Failures
| Failure Message | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| The project cannot be empty. | The project does not contain publishable content. | Add project content and publish again. |
| Source table result data cannot exceed 100,000 rows. | A source table contains more than 100,000 result rows. | Find the table in the project and reduce the number of rows. |
| Data sources in the project are missing. | A required source table, analysis table, chart, storyboard object, calculation model, dashboard chart, or dashboard widget is missing or is not in the current project. | Use the copied error details or lineage view to locate the missing resource. Move the required resource to the project or replace the missing resource. |
| Data exception. | An analysis table in the project contains an error. | Use the copied error details to locate the analysis table with an error and fix the error step. |
| The paid project authorization has expired. | The authorization for the paid project has expired. | Contact your admin or technical support to renew the authorization. |
| Data preparation is in progress. Try again later. | One or more tables in the project are still updating. | Wait until all tables finish updating, check the update progress if needed, and publish again. |
Locating Missing Resources
When the detailed error mentions that a resource is not in the current project or is missing, use one of the following methods:
- Search for the resource name in the project.
- Open lineage view to find the related table, chart, object, calculation model, or widget.
- Move the required resource into the project.
- Replace or remove a missing chart, storyboard object, or widget.
- Fix widgets that are marked with an error.
Result
After you fix the reported issues, publish the content again. If publishing still fails, copy the latest failure details and continue troubleshooting based on the updated message.
